ways we can assist

Picture

The list below explains the ways we, your library media specialists, can help teachers by supporting their curricula and providing services to help their students. Let us know if there are other ways we can help you. We enjoy collaborating with our teachers!

Collaborating with teachers to provide instruction on the following:
     - Google Apps
     - Databases
     - Alexandria Library Catalog
     - Subject specific lessons
     - Research (MLA, APA, CRAAP Test to judge and filter internet content, search engine search skills, etc.).
     - Book Talks

Creating books/materials lists for a specific topic or subject (e.g. WWII, Drug Addiction, Presidential Biographies, etc.).

Pulling books/videos on various topics for class use in the library.

Ordering books, periodicals, and DVDs teachers request as budget allows.

Finding online resources to enhance instruction (webquests, videos, timelines, articles, etc.).

Providing programs to promote literacy (Book Fair, Blind Date With a Book, Book Spine Poetry, Poetry Windows, Banned Books Week, Book March Madness, etc.).
